Australia’s favourite party boys ‘Bonka’ are back with their brand new single ‘Focus.’ Amongst their relentless touring schedule across Australia and Asia, ‘Focus’ comes off the back of their chart topping single ‘Be Alive’ with international songstress Luciana, which was no stranger to Australian air waves. Along with their latest release on Laidback Luke’s imprint ‘Off The Set,’ which gained them support from major players around the world including: David Guetta, Timmy Trumpet, Morgan Page, Bingo Players and Laidback Luke himself.
‘Focus’ is nothing short of what we have come to expect from the dynamic Bonka pair. Instantly memorable melodies and a roaring top line from Bianca (who has put her flair on records for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Will Sparks (Closure) and Tyron Happi & Joel Fletcher (Smooth Operator) ) creates a sing-a-long you can’t help but be a part of. On Remix duties, Sammy Boyle shifts ‘focus’ into the club realm with a catchy re-take for those on the dance floor.
What are your top 3 city clubs in Aus and give us one reason why you rate each?
1. Eatons Hill, Brisbane. We love it because it’s our hometown and our home club and has been for such a long time! The crowd there is always awesome the people who work there are awesome, and we have literally never had a bad night there, so full marks to EH <3
2. HQ Complex, Adelaide. What is not to love about this club, The club itself is spectacular (the production, the resident DJ’s and crew). HQ is an institution for club goers all over Australia and we are so fortunate that we get to play there a few times a year!
3. The Ivy, Sydney. Again, much the same as HQ this is one of those clubs that DJ’s from Australia and from all over the world love to play at! Everything about this club is immaculate. The crowd is always energetic, the staff are always wonderful and super accommodating and it’s just one of the venues that if you’re from Australia is always in your top 3.
What are your top 3 town clubs and give us one reason why you rate each?
1.Criterion, Maryborough. This is a club we have been playing at for years, the crowds are rowdy and are always up for a good time! Definitely the club to check out if you’re ever in the area.
2. Mary G’s, Lismore. We are playing here in the coming weeks, and we always look forward to this one! It’s a Uni town so the crowd is always good and super receptive.
3.Tatts Hotel, Toowoomba. Not what you expect when you think of Toowoomba but some of the wildest nights we’ve ever had went down in this place!
When you’re touring do you get much time to hangout in each place? Do you have a favourite restaurant/bar/clothes shop you have to visit in any of the cities or towns across Aus?’
As a rule of thumb, usually we get to have a nice dinner and see a thing or two whilst in a city or town for a show! However, that totally depends on our schedule or what we have on the next day in terms of flights or travelling.

One of your favourite things to do when visiting a new place is looking for clothes or things you can’t get anywhere else? What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought while traveling or on tour?
If we do get the time, we usually go for a walk down the main street and check out trip advisor or google any must see bars.
Moving away from music, what’s the best place/holiday you’ve ever been on and why?
Best holiday ever is Boracay island off the coast of the Philippines. It is so beautiful, and I would have to put it up there with one of the best beaches in the world, not only that but the food/culture/ people are incredible!
Is there a destination in the world that you feel has influenced your music most and have you been there?
A place that has influenced us a lot in terms of our shows and music is Thailand or anywhere in the Asian region, it’s the place overseas we have played the most! It influences not only our music but our shows as well, as the market is very performance and interaction based we have morphed to fit that market whilst over there and as a result have brought elements back and implemented them not only into our shows but the way we write music.

Well in terms of knowing another person, you probably couldn’t find two people who know each other inside and out better than us, touring with someone is literally the ultimate way to get to know a person.

A: Freddy Mercury for sure
